Targeting Trophy Inshore Species
Clearwater Bay - Pinellas, FL
The bite has been consistent across the local grass flats this week, with the warming waters bringing out some impressive activity. Anglers focusing on the shallow areas during the early morning tides have found significant success targeting redfish, which are aggressively hitting topwater plugs and soft plastics near the mangrove lines.
Snook are also making a strong showing throughout the bay, particularly around points and drop-offs where the current is moving. We have been using live shrimp on circle hooks to entice these feisty predators, resulting in some memorable battles for our guests. As the afternoon approaches, shifting focus to deeper channels has been productive for speckled trout, providing steady action for those looking to keep the rods bent.
Overall, conditions remain ideal for a productive day on the water, and we look forward to getting out there again soon to put our clients on the best spots in Clearwater.
